John Bremner, one of the partners behind Sweet Cures, confirmed that they are now taking orders from independent health food stores. "Until now, customers had to buy online, and that has worked very well for us, and that side of the business will continue, but there has been a demand for instant availability. The scientific basis for using Waterfall D-Mannose is that E.coli, the cause of around 90% of bladder infections, is equipped with lectins that attach to the mannose receptors in the cells of the kidneys, bladder, and urinary tract. By supplying free mannose to the E.coli (Waterfall D-Mannose goes straight into the urine), the mannose receptors are occupied at a molecular level and the E.coli is flushed away by normal urination.
Anna Sawkins, the other Sweet Cures partner, stressed that it is not necessary to understand the cure. "We have vets who use it very successfully on cats and dogs, so there is no placebo effect.
